Mary, Clinical Supervisor

“I have been a Clinical Supervisor with SWASFT for 2 years following a career of 30+ years as a ward, practice and NHS Direct nurse. The Clinical Supervisor role at SWASFT utilises all my previous skills to assess patients who have either rung 999 or been transferred through from NHS 111. The role of Clinical Supervisor has exceeded all my expectations. I find it challenging, interesting and despite my experience of 30+ years I am still learning ‘new’ things every day! I’m also convinced this is good for the ‘old grey matter’! I particularly enjoy working within a mixed skill environment, where a wealth of experience and knowledge is shared. I am respected and feel valued both as a person and a nurse, and am able to access support from my immediate colleagues of nurses and paramedics, the clinical team leaders and a dedicated support service if required.

I can honestly say I actually look forward to coming to work and this role has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable of my career.”
